Corn Specifications
 
Ingredion designs and manufactures starches for a variety of applciations and industries.  Ingredion prides itself on first time quality and supplying our customers with the best quality products for their success.
 
Ingredion's corn suppliers are the first step in enabling quality throughout the design and manufacturing process.  Corn purity and production standards are critical elements of Ingredion's quality programs.
 
Any contamination applies to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, cannot be accepted for delivery at any Ingredion facility.  This would include corn contaminated with >20 pph aflatoxin or biotech events not approved by the FDA for human consumption such as StarLink.

Waxy Corn
  1. All waxy corn deliverd to Ingredion must be a minimum 95% waxy purity.
  2. All waxy corn must be grades 1-3 at destination.
  3. Moisture standard is 15%
  4. Not more than 1% contamination with amylose corn.
  5. Standard discounts for moisture, test weight, insects, FM, sour grain and heat damage.
  6. All waxy corn deliverd to Ingredion must be dried with kernel temperatures below 130F degrees.
Regular Corn
  1. All regular corn deliverd to  Ingredion must be grades 1-3 at destination.
  2. Standard discounts for moisture, test weight, insects, FM, sour grain and heat damage.
  3. All regular corn delivered to Ingredion cannot exceed 5% waxy contamination, or with any other type of corn.  Amylose contamination cannot exceed 1%.
  4. Moisture is 15%.
